Endang Pratiwi, Owner and Founder
“My mother is a traditional Indonesian woman, raised to be a devoted wife, whose main responsibilities involved cooking for the family and the community. Food was a staple in our family gatherings and many other things we were a part of which I have only come to appreciate now.
I find myself doing all the things my mother did growing up and I actually enjoy every minute of it. Just like her, I take pleasure in providing food for my friends and catering to the community. I now understand how my mother was using food to show her care and spread the love.
Having lived in Los Angeles for over 25 years now, food heals the longing and helps fill the void. Through food, I enjoy making friends and expanding my community. Food brings us together; it turns strangers into friends and friends into family.
With Waroeng Iboe, I hope to share my love for my mother’s cooking and my appreciation for Indonesian food.”
